Job Description

This is a fabulous opportunity to join our committed team, who provide unique personal solutions for all its female members. We are looking for a fun, motivational instructor who can inspire our members to achieve their goals on a daily basis
This role is unlike any other, as it will allow you to explore all your skills on a daily basis, whilst working closely with members to achieve their aims. The post also has opportunities to develop personal training experience. You need to be passionate about fitness and well-being, with a genuine desire to help our members achieve their goals, as well as establish and maintain a healthier lifestyle.
Depending on your experience and qualifications, you’ll carry out assessments and induction for new members, create training programmes and carry out re-assessments. In addition, you’ll provide excellent service through Reception duties, membership promotions and sales advice, as well as establishing yourself as a motivating presence within the gym. You’ll need to hold a Level 2 or 3 Fitness/Gym Instructor qualification. As Fitin30 Gym is very different from conventional gyms, full training is provided for our unique equipment and programme provision.
General housekeeping duties will also be required.

Essential Skills

  • To hold a universally recognised fitness qualification approved by the Register of Exercise Professionals at Level 2 or above.
  • To be recognised by REPS and maintain on-going registration.
  • To have and maintain knowledge of the health and fitness industry.
  • To have an understanding of health and safety issues relevant to a fitness gym, the users and equipment.

Desirable Skills

  • To have experience of working in a team environment
  • To hold other related exercise qualifications
  • To hold a valid First Aid certificate or be willing to undertake the qualification.

Main Responsibilities

  • To demonstrate, at all times, a high level of customer care; to make members welcome on a daily basis.
  • Attend to all customer queries/enquiries in a caring, helpful manner and with a commitment to dealing with the issue in a positive way.
  • To liaise with members on every visit to identify their needs and to work with members to develop/update program cards.
  • Supervision of all members facilities; this includes gymnasium, changing rooms, and any ancillary areas.
  • To carry out Inductions and assessments, in order to competently screen clients prior to exercise.
  • To promote the use and increase the membership of the gym at all times.
  • To provide instruction for classes/power circuits as required.
  • To ensure that Fitin30 Gym membership rules and procedures are adhered to.
  • Ensure that membership information is updated as required.

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Education:

  • GCSE or equivalent (Preferred)

I am a football fanatic, I've been playing for the past 15 years and at different levels, I've even represented the County. So if you're looking for any exercises specific to the sport you play, to help you improve and push yourself in your sporting career, I'm your girl!

Interesting fact:

I’m a massive lover of 60s,70s, and 80s music-you’ll forever hear it playing while I’m on shift here at Fitin30 and can always guarantee I’ll be singing along to it as well! Why not come and join in the “throwback” fun with me while you have a workout?

Progress and change take time, work hard, stay consistent, be patient and the results will show!

Specialisms:

I love teaching classes if your a beginner or a "ninja" I can adapt the class to you. Classes are a great way to back up the exercises you do as part of your Personal Programmes here at Fitin30.

Interesting fact: I speak 3 languages and started to learn another but having my daughter temporarily stopped me from learning more. I love travelling and seeing new countries. I also have a secret hobby of baking cakes (which are obviously healthy).

Fitness tip: Just remember your body can do more than your mind is telling you!
Keep your goals achievable and work hard, you only get out what you put in. Oh and remember, you are what you eat! Having a good diet will help you achieve your goals. The most important thing is to have fun.


Fitness tip:  Making regular small and sustainable changes to your lifestyle will help you to achieve your goals – be realistic and enjoy it!

Specialisms: I trained as a dancer for over 10 years and I'm very interested in combining dance & choreography with fitness training to make exercise more enjoyable. I love to create routines combining bodyweight and high-intensity exercises with fun, easy to follow dance moves. Who says getting fitter can't be fun?

Interesting Fact: I was a member at Fitin30 for almost two years and it was my experience here that inspired me to get my instructing qualifications and work in this industry. Now I can help other women with their fitness journeys and it's extremely rewarding.  

Fitness Tip: You have a choice, you can throw in the towel or use it to wipe the sweat off your face.

Specialisms: To encourage students to breathe, and move in a way that feels good and right for them.

Interesting fact: My yoga journey began when I was 14 years old and I started to practice “Yogalates” DVDs at home. The DVDs were set in the Yoga capital of Australia – Byron Bay. I never imagined that 7 years later I’d find myself in the heart of Byron Bay training for my Yoga teaching qualification!

Fitness tip: “Yoga can help you to become more flexible, toned and strong as well as feel calm and relaxed”

Wayne has always had an interest in fitness, starting from his days as a competitive swimmer and now through sailing and yoga. With a history in the competitive sales market, he is well qualified to ensure Fitin30 delivers on its promises.Â

Wayne is the only man at Fitin30 on a regular basis, but he has to get permission to enter the gym!

Wendy enjoys helping people achieve their goals. As a former teacher, Wendy is used to planning for and monitoring progress, whilst working closely with colleagues to achieve the best possible outcome for the women at Fitin30. She has played in the South West League for volleyball and now enjoys yoga and cycling, in her free time.
